At the beginning of the year I was commissioned by Fox Sports in Australia to shoot a series of portraits of Daniel Ricciardo of Team Red Bull Racing to promote Foxs coverage of the 2016 F1 season. Lots more pictures to follow over the course of the year.
The Times Magazine used one of my portraits of Joe Root in their current issue.
On May 16th, I will be opening the doors to my first show, exhibiting a selection of images from a recent personal project the British Surfing Landscape. The exhibition will feature a selection images that document the surf spots of South West England.
British surfing has been rapidly expanding since the early 60's, with the South West being the UK's spiritual home. There, the small group of breaks around Croyde and Woolacombe alone attract more than 40,000 visitors a year, and inject more than £50m into the local economy annually; There are around 30 surf shops in Newquay alone.
Surfing photography is normally centred around the athlete and the wave, and consequently shot close up. What I have looked to achieve is including the wider context of a sport born out of the environment itself, and the majestic and unique British landscape in which it sits.
The exhibition is a joint collaboration with Another Country, a collective of designers selling unique contemporary craft furniture and accessories handmade in the UK and Europe.

Late last year I travelled up to Manchester to shoot James Anderson for the current issue of All Out Cricket - huge congratulations to Jimmy on becoming Englands greatest test bowler, passing Beefy record.
Sad news about Richie Benaud, a man who I had photographed many times in the past. I asked him if I could shoot a couple of pictures while he was commentating at the Oval in the early 2000s. He obliged and simply carried on. When I had finished and said thanks he simply replied "super" in the only way that Richie can. Wonderful man, much loved and much missed. Rest in Peace Richie. Super.
I was commissioned by British Airways to shoot a portrait with Georgia May Jagger set against one of the new designs to feature on one of their airplanes. All seemed to be going smoothly, we had a plane, a lovely sunny day and Georgia was on her way... that was until she hit a bit of Friday West London traffic... On any other job this would not be a problem, but the plane was scheduled to leave at 6pm, along with the daylight. So cue a bit of mild panic with he realisation that we could end up with no picture at all. Luckily she arrived with minutes to spare, so we quickly shot a few frames in the gloaming, then a few more and continued right up until they took the plane away. In the blink of an eye my assistants and I were left on an empty runway, no model, no make up and no plane and in the darkness. A fun shoot, and thanks to all those involved.
Here is a small selection of some of the recent shoots that I have been working on for Canterbury with Kevin Sinfield and Geoff Parling..
